What we are all talking about this week:
Ten years ago, on 9-10-01, I had just gotten to my hotel in downtown Chicago ready to start my life's next chapter at the beginning of a transition week to find an apartment and a new job. I woke up on Tuesday, walked outside, and noticed that they were evacuating the downtown area (as they thought that what was then known as the Sears Tower might have been a target). It turned into a day spent almost entirely in front of the television (I did find an apartment by week's end, but didn't line up a job for about 2.5 months after the move), absorbing the images and digesting every piece of news that developed.
To think that ten years have passed (and is my DVR ever so full of 10th anniversary documentaries) ... and yet our thoughts are still with those who lost loved ones on that day. We honor the everyday people and the heroes who died in NYC, at the Pentagon and the field in western PA -- here are the links to those memorials:
