Here we go again ... what a perfect way to celebrate a holiday weekend than with the return of Penn State football. And, with this 125th season, here is my template for future random posts for Penn State this year --my 5 random thoughts on today's game vs. Indiana State:
.) Question: Do the odds-makers who determine that we are 37 point favorites factor in to the formula that JoePa doesn't run up the score in a mismatched game?
.) Commentator comment that made me groan: "That boy's looking for his contacts and he doesn't even wear glasses!", said after a hard helmet-to-helmet hit.
.) Commentator comment that made me giggle: Every time some mention is made of an athletic contribution by Larry King or how Cheeseborough keeps getting blocked.
.) Stat of the Day: 36% (as in, what is 125 divided by 45 OR as in, how much of PSU's storied football history is directly tied to JoePa's coaching)
.) Final thought: They say that Bolden and McGloin chart equally, but doesn't the one who threatened to leave unless he gets in the game weaken the team spirit?
