In a way, I guess this post pairs nicely with "yesterday's" speaking about honoring those lost in war. I ran across this tune rather unexpectedly, sung by a singer I certainly wasn't expecting to sing it ... in a song that I understand much more than when I sang it years ago to audition for the LVC muscial "The Pajama Game" (it worked -- I got the part -- pictures are in my 1991 album, posted there this past spring).
