Random Flashback for Friday 3/11/11

"Seven and a half cents ... doesn't buy a hell of a lot. Seven and a half cents ... doesn't mean a thing. But give it to me every hour, 40 hours every week ... and that's enough for me to be living like a king."

For the next few weeks, here come pics from LVC theater's 1991 spring musical The Pajama Game -- a story of labor troubles in a pajama factory and romance that blooms between the head of the grievance committee (that's her on the right) and the new factory superintendent (that's me [not yet in the picture] in one of the few times I sang on stage). [Maybe that could be the solution in Wisconsin? Can Governor Walker find love with the head of the AFSCME? Maybe those protesters can all burst into song?]

By the way, if you add up the two times that 7.5 cents is mentioned in the song lyrics, you'll have 15 -- which is the number of minutes early that the plane would have arrived this past week [time to squeeze in an Amazing Race Aside!]. If only these racers had been in 6th grade with me and Mr. Schucker -- who lined his classroom with proverbs -- so that they could have internalized the meaning behind "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"!
