Random Scandal Sheet for Sunday 12/19/10

What Chicago is talking about this week:

It's the holidays, so it's time for a true Chicago tradition -- the Christkindlmarkt in Daley Plaza! Now in its 15th year (the last 9 of which I've been able to attend), this re-creation of a typical German holiday market is full of vendors (the one that I visit first being the one that gets me an authentic Wienerschnitzel) selling gifts, ornaments and food! This year, I've added the pictures to the 2010 Holidays album on FB -- and I've included several of the "blooper variety" at the end -- the "authentic" German vendors (capitalism is equal opportunity, so they include one from Peru), the signs that say "no alcohol beyond this point" (a message you just plain wouldn't see in Deutschland) and the candy store chocolate pigs that appear to be in a daisy chain of sorts. Nothing says Happy German Holidays like copulating pigs!
