Random Scandal Sheet for Sunday 10/17/10

What Chicago is talking about this week ...

It's electioneering season, and since we do supposedly live in a post-racial world, you would think it wouldn't be so jarring to see the effect of a typo in the spelling of the last name of the Green party candidate for governor of Illinois. But when somebody left out the 'n' letter in Rich Whitney's last name on the electronic ballot, there was a minor controversy. All's well that ends well, and the name will be fixed in time for November 2 -- and, luckily, no savvy(?) campaign strategist jumped on the "vote for Whitey" bandwagon.
