Random Scandal Sheet for Sunday 8/8/10

Here's what Chicago is talking about this week:

Even people people would think twice about venturing forth this weekend in my neighborhood.

How's this for a recipe for agoraphobia -- start with the nearly quarter million people expected to stop by and see the nation's largest street fair a few blocks away, mix in two home Cubs games at Wrigley (admittedly with lighter crowds than usual in lame duck Lou's final weeks), sprinkle in the young-uns and the 'hood-lums returning in the evening heat-stricken (baked?) still under the influence of Lollapalooza, turn up the heat and humidity of what's been a consistently over-warmed summer, fold in just enough of a rain shower to make people second guess their entertainment choices -- and pour alcohol over everything and everyone for "heightened flavors"!

Sounds like an on the couch-in the AC-with movies on demand kind of day!
