So what is the best thing about the shore? Is it the taste of the salt-water taffy? The smell of your shoulder skin crisping in the sun? The power of the waves as you dare take a few more steps further out into the ocean? (The sight of Snooki being taken away by the police?) Not so much for me -- I enjoy when the sun sets and all the human hubbub dies down (as in this classic Ocean City MD shot) so that you can truly appreciate the taste of the salt in the air, the smell of your own sun-kissed skin as it cools in the evening breezes, the power of nature in full force with waves beating repeatedly against the beaches as its done for eons (and perhaps even the sight of Snooki, but in the distance, being taken away by those same police).
