Random Scandal Sheet for Sunday 1/17/10

What Chicago is talking about this week:

Whereas "I've gone Haitian" was once just a cute phrase from NBC's Heroes about wiping out memories of the past, now it's a call to action to support the victims of last week's apocalyptic event. There's a sizable "native" population in the city (and the government has granted a temporary amnesty for illegals out of respect for families torn apart), there are adoptions of Haitian babies now halted affecting affluent suburbanites and there's anti-Wyclef Jean sentiment running rampant (who knew?). Should you heed the call to demonstrate your humanity -- just a reminder that the American Red Cross is the closest thing to a sure safe bet to guarantee that your contributions have the greatest effect.
