There's nothing like stumbling on a classic song at the oddest of times and feeling both excitement at finally hearing it and sadness at not having heard it sooner.
Case in point: "Can't Find My Way Home", which I heard again (for the first time?) during the most recent season of the Voice ... not knowing that it was from the supergroup of the late 60's Blind Faith (aka Clapton, Winwood, Baker and Grech) until I started researching it.
Then, after I decided to pick it for tonight's tune, I had to sift through cover after cover version of the song ... eventually to decide on the soulful Bonnie Raitt as the songstress whom I imagined singing it to me as I was wondering the streets of Chicago during my thirties after one too many bar crawls.
And the next time I close a bar, I'm going to check to see if this song is in the jukebox ...
BUT I'M NEAR THE END AND JUST AIN'T GOT THE TIME:
