Although, to be clear, the dogs over the next few weeks will be from the summer of 1996.
As first seen in the corner of the photo from two weeks ago, this is Shelby -- officially DJ's dog, but in much the same way that DJ and family all but adopted me, Shelby did the same.
I would visit and relax into that blue chair in the background, and Shelby would jump up because she thought she was a lap dog -- a giant lap dog who was always as happy as she is in this picture.
And boy did she enjoy going for walks up to Northeast Park back home in Lebanon PA -- carrying the leash in her mouth so all passers-by knew who was really in charge. Nothing made troubles disappear like being loved by Shelby ...
