In 113 days, I'll be back on campus at my alma-mater at an extra special homecoming as Lebanon Valley College continues celebrating its 150th birthday. In honor of that countdown, here's memory #113: the scavenger hunt for pledges!
It might possibly be THE BEST THING about the pledging experience (after all the fun people in the group, of course). Or maybe that's just delirium talking, seeing as how our pledge class was encouraged to hold an all-nighter in order to try and get as many of the 113 items (yes, this list went on for four pages). We "won" the event by how we handled item #17 on this page (a reference to the Globe Theatre that [once] hung in the Admin Bldg -- and I can't say anything else about that due to being unclear regarding the statute of limitations laws in central PA).
Other goodies scavenged for that Sunday 11am presentation that year included:
item 20: ask Jef B the correct pronunciation of his name and be prepared to act out the hand motions
item 29: tape Brent T singing the Bugs Bunny square dance song
item 43: act out Renato as president of the US and include his favorite activity of kissing ass
item 72: imitate Kathy and Jef performing "Where's the Devil in Evelyn"
item 73: have Kelly teach you something in Sign Language
item 92: have Matt describe the near disaster in "How To ..." with falling pseudo-glass objects
Unfortunately, due to old age and the fact that we crammed for the presentation, I may no longer remember all of those answers.
