What southern Florida is talking about this week:
Englebert Humperdinck!
Well, to be fair, it's likely only a certain percentage of southern Florida that is geeked that he's in town tonight performing at a concert.
I mean, after all, he's no Tom Jones or anything.
By the way ... did you know that he *chose* that name (he was born Arnold George Dorsey, according to the wiki ... and picked that name because it was a German composer of operas from the late 1800's). As for the Engleberts in my life, I've tried to talk my friend Kyle into naming his third- born child Englebert (after he had Ethan and Enya, but then chose a non-E name for the third child), but I'm not home enough to make it stick.
When it's all said and done, I do actually know his classics "Release Me" and "After the Lovin'" --(which, in the right setting, and by title alone, could actually be a song and its sequel [ba-dum-DUM]). And to all the (presumably) seniors grooving to his tunes this evening ... have a great time (and keep your granny panties where they belong).
