Random Thought for Thursday 8/13/15

Let me start here:  I do not want tonight's random fact (the last of these snippets from the local bar rag that have been part of these posts most of this week) to fall into the hands of any xenophobes, or to be used by anyone looking to revive the "yellow peril" arguments of last century or to be twisted up into some presidential political agenda.

I simply find it fascinating, in a "perspective" kind of way, that this would be true (i.e.  if the population of China walked past you, in single file, the line would never end because of the rate of reproduction) ... especially with the understanding that population control and wanting to have a boy and the drowning of girl babies was sold to me as Chinese modern reality over the years.

Of course, the interwebs being the interwebs, in preparation for tonight's post I was also able to find a source dedicated to disproving "fake facts" that says it is more likely that it would take between 20 and 50 years for that parade of Chinese to pass ... still a heck of a long time, but not exactly the eternal meet and greet that the factoid seemed to promise.

And ... well ... now you know ... do with that information as you wish ...
