If you know me at all, then you know that the start of summer includes the annual ceremony of discarding the wifebeaters that are old and stained and stretched out (on the left) and replacing them with the wifebeaters that are new and shiny and still form fitting even if the form they fit is itself somewhat stretched out (on the right).
What you may not know is that, just as with the Adidas (Samba) sneakers often on my feet, the wifebeater and I are a tradition that a actually honors a person who played an important role in my life.
The Adidas/Sambas are worn for a kid in high school whom I admired back when I hadn't yet formed any personal style ... and the wifebeater is an homage to (the late) DJ (RIP), who is due to be featured on this blog multiple times during my flashback Fridays by the end of the year, as it was twenty years ago we met in late 1995.
Well worn items befitting my sartorial choices, seeing as you have just been replaced, you will (not so much) be missed.
