Random Scandal Sheet for Sunday 4/26/15

What southern Florida is talking about this week:

Legislative Overtime!

Seems more and more likely that the business of making law will *not* be wrapped up by next Friday (which is also somehow the 1st of May already!), and a special session will be needed in order for the statesmen and stateswomen of Florida to complete their most important task of passing a budget (and any other number of issues now tied up in that one challenge).

By the way, can I just say that, being born and raised in PA before coming to Florida by way of Illinois, I was also somewhat shocked to learn that a "normal year" for our elected folks here is *just sixty* days (which is why I went looking for some kind of comparison of all the different types of state legislatures that are out there, since working two months out of twelve seemed a bit "light" in my opinion).

But regardless of what I thought, 2015 is all but certain to be a year of more than 60 days of work.  And the real question will come at the end of whatever the last day is, as it's then that we'll see exactly what (if anything) was accomplished ... (aka ... to be continued ...)
