Gone but not forgotten: AIDS.
Except ... it's too soon to say that just yet. Would that we could, but we can't. But maybe soon ...
On today's day of remembrance, it's also about making sure that you know your status ... that you understand how advancements in medication have created opportunities to treat the condition as a manageable disease ... that you help to bust the myths that exists ... and that you stand up against discrimination toward those infected.
And to be ever-vigilant because ignorance can set us back ... and that would be a shame as we're closer and closer to the day when we can say, "Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, you will NOT be missed".
