Random Memorial for Monday 11/24/14

Gone but not forgotten:  being beholden to the old people tradition of having turkey on turkey day.

Taking inspiration from my Canadian friends, who also thumb their noses at the thought of forcing Thanksgiving to be on the 4th Thursday of the month (completely ignoring FDR's wishes I might add), TONIGHT is Thanksgiving for me and mine.

Truth be told ... being in Ft. Lauderdale for the first time away from family means new traditions ... and feeling young again surrounded by seniors, we're bringing back "BlackOut Wednesday" ... the binge drinking holiday that the kids do when they come home from college to visit with family before the traditional day of the holiday.

So tonight ... as seen in this authentic non-stock photo... butter basted sage turkey, sausage sage stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls and, in a special find for dessert ... pumpkin pecan struessel pie!

Since I couldn't talk Macy's into changing the date of their parade, *that* will still have to be watched in 2 and a half days (despite being hungover, I should still be able to work the remote) ... but it's looking like Chinese food for Thursday night ... or leftover turkey sandwiches!

The genius of this plan ... the traditional Thanksgiving meal ... despite the Wednesday night plans ... you will NOT be missed!
