Comedy of a certain caliber is almost always based in pain.
Once again, one of the greatest of my generation is gone too soon. (Is this what happens when you get old? ... Your pop culture references start passing, making you realize that life is shorter than you could ever imagine?)
Despite the way his depression apparently played out, he lives on through his memorable performances, too many to list ... and let's not forget the humanitarian work he did with Whoopi and Billy with Comic Relief.
For me, he'll always be the voice of healing saying over and over again ... "It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault."
It's going to be a raucous night for God and company with Williams and Winters together again keeping the heavenly hosts in stitches ... assuming they can keep up of course ... but down here on earth, Robin, you will most definitely be missed.
