I don't mean to go off on a rant here, but ...
... where's our snow?
I have my military nephews engaged in a snow-off on Facebook (comparing Colorado snow to Deutschland schnee), and all we have here in Chicago is some boring cold rain. [And to clarify -- this picture of this bus trapped on this street (where buses are not to travel) -- that's from the Snowmageddon that we had back in 2011 for a quick weekend.]
The tree was purchased and decorated this year in 60 degree weather ... and any chance of a White Christmas seems to be going the way of the global warming brigade ... plus the annual Retirement Preview Project (also known as a week's vacation in Florida each year around the time I must face that I am another year toward death and from birth now that I've passed the midway point of my life expectancy) is just about a month away and there's nothing more exasperating when travelling some place that is known for being warm when your cell phone tells you that the same temp or higher is happening in your usual environs back home.
I'm a renter so I don't have to shovel ... and I work from home so all I have to do is sit and look out at the pretty white stuff (before the drunks and the dozens of doggies in the 'hood compete to choose a different color scheme for over half of the landscape) ... and ... I ... want ... snow!
I may have lost track of who makes that happen in Chitown -- Tom Skilling? (note: you must be of a certain geography to get this reference) Dr. Franklin and his fembots and his weather machine? (note: you must be of a certain age to get this reference) Rahm Emmanuel (or is controlling the weather a second term initiative)? (note: you must be of a certain political persuasion to get this reference) Rankin-Bass' Mother Nature? (note: you must know the genealogy of the Snow Miser to get this reference)
But to whomever can create the phenomenon ... hear my plaintive cry ... let it snow ... let it snow ... let it snow!
I'M NOT SCURRED ... BRING IT ON AGAIN!:
