100 Things I've Always Wanted To Say But Never Did And Now Maybe Should Since The World Might Be Ending -->
Thing 16:
File this under long overdue thanks ... but now that we're down to just over two weeks before the world (maybe) ends, a quick (but long overdue) thank you should be offered to Mr. C, my ninth grade Social Studies teacher at Lebanon High School. I've said before how grateful I was to escape into my high school life and away from my home situation, and Mr. C was another of those teachers who went above and beyond just instructing me about the things that ninth grades should know historically, and who took an interest in my personal development, making sure that I had a place to go to talk -- including letting me end every Friday signed out of whatever high school obligation I had so that I could be positioned in his office and so that I could get a head start out of the school at quitting time to get the secret ride over to Hebron church to work on my newsletter/magazine project ... all of which fostered that independent spirit who would find creative ways to succeed even when the odds were stacked against him. So thanks Mr. C for taking the extra time to care way back then!
