Hey -- anyone out there on FB or on the interwebs know if I was ever at a drive in movie?
I know that sounds like an odd question, but I was watching the season premier of The Middle last week, and going to the drive in was the plot, and it made me doubt whether I had ever done so.
I certainly lived super close to one in my hometown of Lebanon PA -- and I know I visited there many a time for the flea market -- and drove over the Avon bridge enough times with movies playing in the background. But I just can't recall if I ever actually SAW a movie there. And I was a late bloomer, so I know I didn't use the environs to have relations with anyone a la classic 50's movies.
If I were put under hypnosis, I might vaguely remember hiding under blankets in the back of a car so that I didn't have to pay ... and walking to the nearly underground recession stand to get a giant bucket of popcorn ... and maybe it was "The Care Bears Movie" that was the feature ... or maybe I made all that up. I'm pretty sure that "Star Wars" and "E.T." are in the mix for "first movie I ever saw" -- but I don't think that either of them was in the drive-thru setting ...
So -- help me out? Anyone remember going there with me at some time in the past (and before it became a Wal-mart)?
