It's baby's first car!
Well, if "baby" is me 20 years ago -- since, after all, you can't really leave my hometown of Lebanon PA (where I biked everywhere for three years) and travel to Uniontown PA without a vehicle.
So, at the ripe old age of 20, I learned how to drive (thanks to all my friends for teaching me -- I was often shotgun passenger observing how far to push the line -- like in the rabbit of Eric F's on the back road to Jarrod S's dad's house where we went up on two wheels around corners ...) and thanks to the generosity of Judy W (ummm ... I don't think I ever did finish paying this off?), I was the proud owner of an '83 Ford Escort.
And proud I was -- I drove this car to 100,000 miles + (and, although it never quite looked like this again -- it did accumulate a few "character marks" along the way), you never forget your first. By the way -- this picture was taken from the front porch of my new apartment (new 20 years ago) in Uniontown as the next chapter of my life began to unfold.
