After all, I could go with a little Peter Paul and Mary and "Leaving on a Jet Plane" -- the song I've previously shared that Mr. Reigh used to dim the lights and make us listen to/sing along in 4th grade.
But then I pulled out the old 1989 Lodestone to see if maybe our class prom had a theme song (and, it may have, but the yearbook only referred to it as a Night of Dreams) ... so that didn't point in the direction of any specific melodic memory.
So I next considered the time frame that was the conjunction of college with my multiple subscriptions through Columbia House (which is why I am still the owner of 500+ cassettes today, thank you for much -- many of them procured for just a penny!), but that was overwhelming to just pick one song to reflect the ... ten years or so I was in undergrad and postgrad and undergrad again and then back to postgrad before maxing out my student loans and running away to Chicago.
And so ... I'll go with what might be the quintessential inspirational song for any boy (of appropriate age) who is heading back to school this season -- and I hope it brings a dirty little smile to all y'all's faces when you hear the ditty ...
