Random Scandal Sheet for Sunday 2/19/12

What Chicago is talking about this week (by way of South Bend, with references to Munich and Minden and Uniontown for good measure):

... well -- to be clear, only those who survived are still talking in Chicago [I fled to South Bend to spend time with family and to escape the secular angel of death, as a recent study of the Cook County clerk's office records showed that more people die on Feb 17 than any other day of the year (relief -- I made it through this one). Because I know you're wondering, Sep 8 is the day that the most babies are born (which makes Dec 8 the most popular day for impregnation in the Windy City?).]

... and a subset of survivors are likely talking about the Klitschko fight yesterday in Munich, where Vitali outpointed his opponent for another win -- but had to deal with the classless actions of Chisora both before (spitting? are you a ho from a VH1 reality show?) and after (setting up your next fight by brawling in front of reporters after your loss sounds a little desperate, no?) the main event.

... which just makes you wonder if it isn't time to retire boxing all together (with the Klitschko boys as the final champions, naturally) and further promote the mixed martial arts as its replacement (note about possible bias: I am currently a fan of the MTV docu-series Caged, about the young lives wrapped up in the MMA scene in Minden, LA and I did just possibly locate a long lost friend from my days in Uniontown PA twenty years ago -- who the interwebs now say is a part of the that town's fight scene [Jeff Haragos -- is that really you?]).
