This twenty year old picture could "almost" pass as someplace up in central PA -- say Potter County -- until you take a look at the space in the distance where you can make out the snow covered mountains of the Wild West. (Yep, it's another shot of my mother's trip to the Montana/Canada border in 1991). Oh -- and, dollars to doughnuts, the water in the stream is ice cold!
And speaking of being in need of ice cold water, it may be that the reason I don't have any pics of my own from that summer was because it was too hot to do anything. According to the PA weather book, Philly experienced a record heat wave that May, with temperatures of 90 or more on 12 days in May and triple digit heat arrived by the end of June -- just too too hot to take pictures, I guess!
