I just got back from picking up an extra avocado for the guac, and let me tell you - it is a perfectly crisp day in Chicago, reminding me that fall has returned. (As a matter of fact, if you stand still and strain your ears, you can practically hear the leaves goading each other as to whom will be the first to take the plunge. And, by the way, a well polished goader can be tolerated, a bully is abhorrent!) The real question at hand -- does it remind me of a fall day in 2009 (when our season was spoiled in the fourth quarter by a lot) or a fall day in 2008 (when our season was spoiled in the last second of the fourth quarter) or a fall day in 2007 (when the second or third string was playing in the fourth quarter of our rout). Breathe it in - I smell fall 2007!
