For those of you who like a little history with your college football on a November Saturday ... the land-grant trophy at risk today (not really, right, 'cause we are surely on our way to a ten win season) references laws passed in 1862 to codify the successes of Michigan State and Penn State (then known as Farmers' High School of PA) as a response to the Industrial Revolution sweeping across America.
